Hello, my fellow tree posers~
I want to send a sincere message from my heart. It’s about choosing the right goal, but the wrong date…
There’s a quote on the back of the t-shirt I received for running the Cascade Crest 100-mile endurance race. It reads, “As runners, what we do here today is important because we are exchanging one day of our life for it…fall down seven, get up eight.”
I definitely exchanged a full day and then some before I crossed the finish line, and it’s among one of my best days (and nights) because it made me feel completely and joyfully alive. I actually did fall down once along the way, twisting my knee, but I got up…brushed myself off…and carried onward (and upward!).
I bring this up because of my most recent tripping and falling episode involving my Plant a Tree Pose movement. Many of you who know me well can attest to my wildly optimistic ideas and goals. Plant a Tree Pose is no exception, however I have miscalculated its arrival at the finish line. This World Environment Day (6-5-15),
I planned to reveal the photomosaic art exhibit made from thousands of tree pose pictures, but in the last two months I’ve only managed to engage hundreds instead of thousands or hundreds of thousands like I envisioned.
Needless to say, I am disappointed, even though my time frame may have been a wee bit unrealistic! 🙂 This may have brought me down, but I’m willing to get up…brush off the skepticism, apathy & dismissal from others…and move forward with unwavering faith in all possibilities and deeply rooted passion for healing our planet.
For those of you who wish I’d be a wee bit more realistic, you’ll be happy to know I’ve extended the finish line for the movement to Earth Day 2016 (4-22-16), giving me a solid ten months to work toward the movement’s (outrageous) success. I still hold my vision of engaging 1 million+ individuals from all over the globe to “plant a tree pose” and raise 1 million+ dollars to trees around the world.
I know some of you were really looking forward to the unveiling of the photomosaic and I apologize for letting you down. Because you have been so patient with me and my unrealistic time frame, I am going to give you each a poster of the photomosaic created by Robert Silvers. You deserve it for being the first sprouters of the movement and I truly appreciate your generosity and support.
I will need your shipping address for sending you the poster and you’ll receive an email requesting this information as Earth Day 2016 approaches. Thank you for believing in me and my movement!
Here’s to more tree posers and trees!!!
P.S. Even though the photomosaic has been postponed, I will be giving checks to each nonprofit on June 5, 2015. Stay tuned to see how many trees will be planted so far.
P. S. S. If you want to know how I embrace disappointment you can read more HERE. If you’re just now finding us and you’d like to join our movement fill in the form:
