“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better, it’s not!” I have this picture and quote from Dr. Seuss’ Lorax on my vision board for the Plant a Tree Pose movement. It helps remind me of my responsibility and calling to care for our earth. I believe I am here to help make things better, especially with regard to protecting Mother Nature. This is why I started the movement and it is why I am continuing it, even though I didn’t meet my goal of engaging 1,000,000 individuals around the world. YET!!!
This is not the first time I’ve stumbled with the movement (please see “Choosing the Right Goal, But the Wrong Date!”). Despite the stumbles, it’s been a good journey for me so far and I’ve learned many lessons. Here are just a few…
- One person really can make a difference, but it still “takes a village” to see it through.
- Patience, my dear, patience… it’s okay to dream big, but that takes even more patience.
- Even though I failed, I am okay. I am enough and all is well, and for forest’s sake, keep going!!
So, I still hold my grand vision of engaging 1 million individuals from all over the globe to “Plant a Tree Pose” and raise 1 million+ dollars to plant trees around the world and I can still see a spectacular Photomosaic of Tree Posers spanning the walls of a city skyscraper. I just don’t know when… but I know it will happen and I vow to keep this visionary seed planted in my heart.
I will continue to move forward with unwavering faith in all possibilities and deeply rooted passion for healing our planet. I do care a whole awful lot and I know it is going to get better! May the movement continue to unfold and blossom into a forest of Tree Posers and trees!!
For the trees & their creatures,
